Oracle is one of the world’s largest software companies, known primarily for its database management systems.
Oracle’s primary product is the Oracle Database, which is widely used by organizations for storing, managing, and retrieving data. The company offers a range of other enterprise software solutions, including customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management (SCM), and human capital management (HCM) applications. These software products help businesses automate and streamline their operations.
In addition to software, Oracle also manufactures and sells computer hardware systems, including servers, storage products, and networking equipment. The company has acquired several technology companies over the years to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its position in the industry.
Oracle has a significant presence in the cloud computing market and provides various cloud-based services, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS). Its cloud offerings aim to help businesses migrate their applications and data to the cloud and leverage the benefits of scalability, flexibility, and cost savings.
Larry Ellison, one of the co-founders, served as the CEO of Oracle for several decades. However, in 2014, he stepped down as CEO and became the company’s Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Safra Catz and Mark Hurd served as co-CEOs from 2014 until Hurd’s death in 2019. Since then, Safra Catz has been serving as the sole CEO of Oracle.
